About Snipply

Snipply is a free video editor, photo editor and set of everyday tools that work right in your browser, and in a free Windows app.

Why Snipply exists

Simple jobs like making a passport photo, fitting an exam signature under 20 KB or making a video small enough to send often mean installing software, creating an account, paying for one export or uploading personal photos to an unknown server. Snipply was made to do those jobs in a few clicks, for free, without your files leaving your device.

How it works

Snipply runs entirely in your web browser. Editing, compression, background removal and captions use your device's own processor and graphics chip. The AI models for background removal and speech recognition are downloaded once and then run locally. Your projects are saved in your browser's storage on your device, not on a server, so nobody else can see them. You can read the details in our privacy policy.

How Snipply is paid for

The website shows ads, which pay for its hosting and development. Ads appear on the information pages, not over your work. The Windows app has no ads. There is no paid version and no watermark.

How we keep the tool pages accurate

Photo and signature sizes for exams and passports change from year to year. The numbers on our pages come from the same tables the tools use, and each table shows when it was last checked and links to the official notice it came from. If a notice changes, every number can also be edited in the tool, so you are never stuck with an outdated rule. If you notice something out of date, please tell us so we can correct it.
