How to make a passport photo
- Pick the country or document from the list in the tool.
- Choose your photo. Face the camera, with even light and a neutral expression.
- Check the framing. The lines show where the top of your head and your chin should be; drag the photo or use Head size to adjust. A green tick means the head size meets the rule.
- Download one photo for an online form, or a print sheet (4 × 6 in or A4) to print at any photo shop.

The tool meets the size, head size and background rules. Officials also check things a tool cannot: a neutral expression, eyes open, no glasses glare and a recent photo.
